The real estate complex of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, located at 78 rue de Varenne, includes the former Hôtel de Villeroy (1713) listed as a historic monument, the hotel of the Minister and his Cabinet, the Aile sur Rue built in 1881 by the architect Emmanuel Brune, listed as an historic monument, and various buildings on the interior courtyards including on the Impasse Martignac in the rue de Grenelle.
The program concerns the facades and gables of the 100-meter-long street-facing building, i.e. more than 4,000 m² of facades and nearly 300 monumental joinery pieces with the aim of improving the energy efficiency of the building, while guaranteeing the safety and security of the protocol activities of the Minister and his Office, through a three-phase construction site organization, guaranteeing the continued operation of the occupied site and the confidentiality and autonomy of the Minister's access, despite a building surrounding the Minister's Hotel with only one access, through the construction site.
Beyond the technical restoration solutions, this project is relevant to the operation through its mastery of the organization of the site in its very constrained context.
